Abstract
Following the current Covid crisis, which prompted supply chain disruptions and GDP loss, most of western countries are experiencing unusually high inflation rates. To keep prices at a sustainable level, central banks are evaluating the possibility of rising interest rates, after a prolonged period of near-zero rate policies. However, present and future homeowners are worried that such decision may negatively affect their ability of taking and/or repaying their mortgages. My research investigates how the real estate and loan markets may be affected by a restrictive monetary policy.
This seminar will be held online via Zoom.
