4/6/2022, 3:30 PM - 4:45 PM
Department of Economics welcomes you to a seminar with Vardges Levonyan, University of Zurich, presenting "BBC, Brexit, and Balanced Reporting". Brown Bag seminar | How Confidence Affects Beliefs About Procedural Fairness and Preferences for Redistribution

3/28/2022, 12:05 PM - 1:00 PM
Welcome to the Brown Bag Seminar in Economics organized by the Department of Economics, SSE. The seminar speaker is Kajsa Hansson, Linköping University, presenting "How Confidence Affects Beliefs About Procedural Fairness and Preferences for Redistribution". We investigate the causal effect of an increase in confidence on i) beliefs about procedural fairness and ii) preferences for redistribution. The findings suggest that confidence shapes views on how fair the world is, while the experience of success and failure affect preferences for redistribution above and beyond the influence of confidence.
