Research
My research is inherently empirical and focuses specifically on credit ratings, a rather hot topic within the broader field of corporate finance, which sparked renewed interest in the aftermath of the Global Financial Crisis of 2009. Through my research, I explore the various conflicts of interest inherent in the credit rating process, as well as the accuracy and impact of ratings on various market participants. For my empirical analysis, i use various panel regression techniques and different identification strategies for uncovering causal relationships.
Teaching
At a master level, I have been teaching corporate valuation and introductory financial econometrics, as well as designed and helped students through various lab sessions (using e-views) in econometrics.
At a bachelor level , I have supervised so far 15 theses, two of which have been the only ones in the programme to get an A. Furthermore, I have guided and helped all bachelor student groups with econometrics and data-related inquiries during the last three semesters.
