Methodology

The survey data is presented in aggregated form by calculating the proportion of individuals who agree with certain statements. Please refer to the "Survey Questions" section for detailed information on the survey questions. The means are calculated at the country and regional levels. Sweden consists of 21 counties.

At the Country Level

At the national level, the data is presented in aggregated form represented by simple averages of survey responses from all participants, without applying any survey weights. This provides a broad overview of the attitudes and behaviors of the Swedish population.

At the Regional (Län) Level

At the regional level, simple averages are calculated for each of Sweden's 21 counties. Like the national analysis, this data represents simple average results of the survey questions. This allows us to capture regional variations in attitudes and expectations across Sweden.

Reworking the Survey Questions

To analyze the survey responses geographically, we transformed the Likert scale survey questions into percentage-based interpretations. Respondents could pick from the following:

Very unlikely (Inte allas sannolikt)
Unlikely (Inte så sannolikt)
Likely (Ganska sannolikt)
Very likely (Mycket sannolikt)
Don't know/ No opinion (Vet inte/Ingen åsikt)

or

Strongly disagree (Stämmer inte alls)
Disagree (Stämmer till viss del)
Agree (Stämmer till stor del)
Strongly agree (Stämmer helt)
Don't know/ No opinion (Vet inte/ingen åsikt)

The resulting map categorizes responses by showing "the share of individuals who agree with a survey statement." In analyzing the data, we grouped participant opinions using two key criteria:

1. Agreement Levels: For statements where respondents indicated agreement, we combined the categories "Agree" and "Strongly agree" to determine the share of people who support a particular statement.

2. Likelihood of Agreement: For responses related to likelihood (e.g., future behavior or intentions), we grouped "Likely" and "Very likely" to understand how many participants are likely to act or feel in a certain way.
