GDPR at SSE events
The Stockholm School of Economics (SSE) takes individuals personal integrity very seriously and we have a strong focus on protecting the data that we process about you so that you can feel safe with how we handle the information. It is therefore SSE’s ambition to be transparent about how we process personal data and why we do it.
We must process personal data in our daily operations in order to function as a business school and we ensure you that the processing is in line with prevailing data protection legislations as well as internal guidelines and routines. Personal data processed at the Stockholm School of Economics is confidential as it is not subject to public documentation under the Swedish administrative law and are therefore not subject to public access and disclosed to any parties outside of SSE, unless the school is required to disclose such information by law or pursuant to other requirements in carrying out SSE’s educational activities.
Your rights
Under the GDPR, you have the right to request access to your personal data, rectification, erasure, and to object to certain processing.

Privacy Notice
We process personal data in connection with our events, including:
- Your name, affiliation and contact details (when you register)
- Any dietary or accessibility information you choose to provide
- Images and video recordings where you may be visible or identifiable
Why do we process your data?
We use your personal data to manage event registration, communicate practical information, provide necessary accommodations, and administer the event.
Photo and filming
Photos and video recordings are used to document the event and may be published on our website, social media channels, and other communication, reports or promotional materials.
Legal basis
We process your personal data based on our legitimate interest in organizing and promoting our activities.
Retention
Personal data will be retained only as long as considered necessary.
Sensitive data, such as dietary restriction and accessibility needs, will be deleted witihin four weeks after completion of the event.
External partner involved
In some cases, we are working together with external partners in organizing and executing events, and may be sharing necessary data with them. Detailed infomation is provided on the registration form of the specific event.
