Kristoffer Kvam

Meet Kristoffer Kvam - Founder and CEO of SMOC.AI and Executive MBA alum.

Why did you choose to study an Executive MBA at SSE?

At the time, I wanted to acquire a better theoretical platform to stand on as part of my leadership development. I have taken several management courses at SSE, but the MBA offered a bigger picture.

How would you say that the Executive MBA has contributed to your professional and personal development? What were your key learnings?

It created the foundation for a complete career change. First I was quickly promoted in my corporate job at the time and after 5 years I reached VP level in the company. Then after that, it was a core part for me to eventually exit the corporate world and found my own AI & marketing business.

Tell us a little bit about what it is you do today.

I have founded a business called SMOC.AI that helps companies increase growth by AI. We offer an AI-powered sales agent that increases conversion by personalizing and gamifying customer journeys. SMOC offers proactive AI sales agents, digital conversations, rewards, and data products that improve brand loyalty, customer insights, and conversions through engaging conversations and a custom-built recommendation engine.

What has impressed you the most about the Executive MBA program?

What impressed me the most was the diverse set of individuals and from different times in their careers and different professions that I met. From this you mature and learn so much about yourself and others.

Do you have any words of wisdom or advice you would like to share with others interested in studying an Executive MBA at SSE?

When I started the MBA I thought success was linked to your skills and experience, after the MBA I understood it as much was about your empathy and your network. These are core abilities you will learn much more about, in addition to the standard MBA body of knowledge.
