Exploring the frontiers of sustainability reporting
The Department of Accounting and The Accounting and Financial Management Center of Excellence (ACE) is jointly hosting a breakfast seminar with the Mistra Center for Sustainable Markets (MISUM) entitled “Exploring the frontiers of sustainability reporting”.
Associate Professor and the Accounting Frameworks Platform Director Mistra Center for Sustainable Markets, Torkel Strömsten together with Assistant Professor Marek Reuter and Assistant Professor Emilia Cederberg, both Affiliated Researchers Mistra Center for Sustainable Markets will share insights from their research projects in the sustainability reporting area.
In 2016, the Financial Stability Board (FSB) established the Task force for Climate related Financial Disclosures (TCFD). The aim of the TCFD was to develop a set of recommendations that could promote more informed investment, credit, and insurance underwriting decisions, but also to make stakeholders understand and aware of the financial sector’s exposure to climate related risks.
In this seminar, academic findings from studies conducted in the European Financial sector will be discussed, focusing on TCFD compliance and implementation, including early insights on the TCFD interplay with risk in the insurance domain.
