SSE Alumni Event in London: An Exploration of Competitive Advantage in the Era of Digitalisation
Please join us for our SSE Alumni Event on Wednesday, March 4th, 2020, held in conjunction with the UK Friends of SSE (UKFSSE). The event will feature a keynote from SSE professor Bo Becker, the Gösta Olsson Professor in the Department of Finance at SSE, followed by a dynamic panel of experts led by UKFSSE Board President Håkan Gomér.
After Bo Becker's keynote, he will be joined by Andreas Schörling, Managing Director UK at FlixBus, and Ingrid Orstadius, Business Development Director at Deezer, for a lively discussion moderated by UKFSSE Board President Håkan Gomér, to explore the changes they are seeing in their industries due to digitalisation, and how that is affecting competition.
We expect a lively conversation and encourage audience members to continue the conversation during a mingle afterwards.

Speaker Bios:
Bo Becker is the Gösta Olsson Professor in the Department of Finance at the SSE. He earned his MSc degree at the SSE and his PhD at Chicago Booth. Bo taught at Urbana Illinois and at the Harvard Business School. He joined the SSE faculty in 2013 where he currently serves as the Master Level Program Director in Finance. Significant portions of Bo’s research have addressed questions of competition and the interplay of finance with competitive performance. He enjoys board-level experience from the fierce competitive pressures in finance.
Andreas Schörling serves as the Managing Director UK at FlixBus. With a master’s degree in Aeronautics from KTH and a master’s in General Management from SSE, Andreas worked for Lime, Gett, Rocket Internet, along with several other start-ups and E-commerce platforms prior to joining FlixBus. His primary areas of focus have been mobility, platform and online ecosystems.
Ingrid Orstadius holds the role of Business Development Director at music streaming service Deezer and is responsible for building strategic relationships with global partners to distribute and promote Deezer. Ingrid has extensive experience in monetizing intellectual property rights. She has a background in sales and commercial strategy at NBCUniversal, Turner Broadcasting, Disney and MTG. She holds a Masters Degree in Business and Economics from Stockholm School of Economics.
