- BSc programs: 100 000 SEK / year
- MSc programs: 150 000 SEK / year
- PhD programs: free of charge
- MBA program: 495 000 SEK (excl. of VAT of 25%) for all participants regardless of citizenship. For more information on tuition fee for SSE MBA, read here.
WHO IS REQUIRED TO PAY?
- EU/EEA/Swiss citizens
Citizens of an EU/EEA country or Switzerland are not required to pay tuition fees. - Non-EU/EEA citizens
Non-EU/EEA citizens are generally required to pay tuition fees. There are however some exceptions to this general rule.
SSE follows the same regulations regarding tuition fees as all public universities in Sweden. Check if you are required to pay here.
The fees at SSE are paid in installments (1 per semester) and are due before the semester starts (1 June, 31 December, 31 August, 31 December, etc.).
In case you don't need to pay the tuition fee, you will be asked to provide a proof of your status (e.g. EU/EEA passport, decision from the Migration Board granting you the residence permit in Sweden). It is your status by the payment deadline that defines whether you are required to pay or not. E.g. if you are in the process of receiving EU passport or Swedish residence permit and you get it before June 1, you are not required to pay. If you receive it after June 1, you are required to pay the fees for the first semester, but will be exempted from paying for the next one.
Scholarships administrated by SSE
SSE has a number of scholarships for students required to pay the tuition fees. The scholarship application is submitted together with the application for the program. Only applicants who fulfil the eligibility requirements for the program will be considered for scholarships.
The scholarships are awarded on a competitive basis. All applications are assessed by a selection committee, taking into consideration the relevance and the quality of the personal motivation, academic excellence, relevant extracurricular activities, program cohort diversity and fair distribution of scholarships across the programs.
Scholarships are only intended for students who are required to pay tuition fees. A scholarship cannot be granted to a student who:
- has already lived in Sweden for two years or more previous to the scholarship period;
- has Swedish citizenship or is a national of EU/EEA country (or Switzerland), has a permanent residence permit or a work permit in Sweden, or is the process of applying for any of them listed above;
- has previously been awarded a scholarship for an equal level of study or research at a Swedish university/university college;
- already holds a degree from a Swedish university/university college;
- is currently enrolled in a study program at a Swedish university/university college.
