Update from Singapore
I have stopped getting on the metro in the wrong direction (most of the time) and I no longer have to use Google Maps to find my way around campus. I know which foods I like at the Hawker Centres and I have learnt most of the Singlish slang words.
However, I would say that studying abroad never stops surprising you. Not only does Singapore offer almost an endless amount of activities, but you learn so much from the people you meet. So far, I have done group projects with people from China, India, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Poland, Hungary and Romania. This gives an incredible cultural richness in discussions that I think would be hard to find at universities elsewhere in the world. I have learnt so much from this; everything from the current political situation in Poland to the cultural meanings of Indian weddings. What I mean to say with this is that the diversity at NUS is very unique and I truly believe that the experiences you gain from studying in Singapore will be great for the future – both professionally and personally.
With that said, I hope you have a lovely day and stay tuned for more updates from us fellows!
