1. Why did you choose SSE and the MSc Program in Economics?
SSE's excellent academic reputation and the program structure have convinced me that the Master in Economics is the perfect fit for my personal interests and future goals. I chose the program because it pursues a thorough analytical approach and provides an excellent opportunity to acquire a deep understanding of economic theory.
Two years is enough time to not just participate in lectures where state of the art computer software is used to answer quantitative policy questions - which creates the basis for substantiated research - but also to be open-minded and influenced by ambitious and very motivated students from a variety of cultural backgrounds. The SSE Master Program in Economics allows me to extend my analytical knowledge on a highly professional and academic level and to broaden my personal horizon.
2. Why would you encourage others to apply to SSE?
I believe the Stockholm School of Economics is the ideal location to continue academic education. Living and studying here creates memories for life, not for a single day have I regretted coming to SSE.
I am delighted with the friendly and welcoming atmosphere that I have experienced here. The small class size and the fact that both professors and the Program Director encouraged us to study together and help each other, provided the foundations that led to an incredibly positive group dynamic. Already after the first year, I have friends for life from all over the world.
The Student Association (SASSE) offers a large variety of activities, societies, sports and serves all SSE students as a platform for social development. There are so many ways to be involved and meet new friends! Its Economics Society, for example, provides the opportunity for students interested in Economics and Public Affairs to discuss interesting topics, current developments and learn more about cutting-edge research and career perspectives as economists.
Last but not least, Stockholm is stunningly beautiful and the most modern and open city that I have ever been to.
