SSE MBA class of 2022

Our participants already have jobs and promising careers, but are eager to develop their skillsets and prepare for the next step. They all continue to work full-time while pursuing their MBA studies, most with families. This requires motivation as well as an ability to manage, prioritize and to delegate. Both at work and at home.

SSE MBA 2019 alum says:

"If you haven’t been structured before the program, this is something that I have developed a lot more. To organize your work and work-life balance is critical to be able to learn as much as possible."

Female participants

With around 50 participants in each class, more than half will have a non-Swedish or multinational background, and most will have extensive international experience academically and/or professionally. The average age in the program is 39, with an age span from 28 to 50+, and about 40% of participants are women.

Each class is carefully assembled by the admissions team. We strive for diversity in the class. A more diverse group makes for broader case discussions, more perspectives, better learning – and excellent networks.

Our classes represent a wide range of backgrounds. Your fellow participants have been studying engineering, law, economics, finance, medicine, psychology, political science, forestry etc and will represent industries such as manufacturing, automotive, technology, life science, forestry, entertainment, telecom, retail and banking. Participants work in any size of company or the public sector, and some are entrepreneurs. Your class will be very diverse, in all aspects. There is no typical SSE MBA participant – you are all special.

SSE MBA 2019 alum says:

"Prior to starting the program, I heard from colleagues and friends about how important the networking during the MBA program is but to truly understand it you have to experience it yourself. People I met were amazing with exciting life and work background. I remember the feeling first coming to my reflection group and discovering the variety of professions and skill in the room, starting from investment banking and covering medicine, art, mining, engineering, etc. This has brought so much richness into the studying process and helped to go beyond the material provided in the class and facilitated the learning."

"The diversity of the cohort is essential for a great experience and I would say that the program management at SSE has really made a great mix of personalities, professions, backgrounds and goals in life and work. I am now more humble than before and take my time to reflect and interact with people that are not a blueprint of myself. I embrace the benefits of other people with complete different skillsets and views. That was an eyeopener for me and something that I use and will use in my future work."

During the program you build a priceless international network of experts in all fields, a sounding board for your future ideas and challenges, and make new friends for life. Your peers in your class are never further away than a DM.
