Blue Bonds Course
To make sure that more projects are carried out for the purpose of preserving marine life and addressing water needs, several financial institutions are now developing Blue Bonds.
Blue Bonds are debt instruments issued by financial institutions to raise capital to finance oceanbased projects with environmental benefits. Compared to other funding sources, there is a lack of awareness and knowledge regarding Blue Bonds since they are relatively new. Seeing the negative effect we have had on our waters, we strongly believe there is a need to shed light on the issue. Our Blue Bonds Course therefore has the aim of educating organizations on Blue Bonds, as well as influencing them to embark on more sustainable projects pertaining to our oceans.
Throughout this project, SEB served as an advisor and contributed with their expertise. We have developed a high-quality educational experience, and a tool that SEB could use in their communication channels, including client meetings and company presentations, through which investors and other stakeholders will be informed and educated. With SEB being a leading financial institution in the Nordics, the course is set to reach a substantial number of investors, thereby contributing to SDG 6 (clean water and sanitation) and SDG 14 (life below water).
