Åström Rudberg, Elin

Elin is a PhD student since August 2014 writing a dissertation in economic and business history. Her dissertation deals with the history of the Swedish advertising industry 1915-1965 focusing on the role of the institutional context for the development of the industry. The relationship with the newspaper publishers was especially important but aspects of Americanisation, business norms and the influence of the state during WWII also form part of the dissertation.

Elin holds a M.Sc. degree in economics from SSE and has studied to the level of B.A in international relations and economic history at the Stockholm University. She has also worked as a trend analyst focusing on consumer trends. 

From November 1 until December 31 2018, she is a visiting scholar at the  European Institute at Columbia University in New York collecting sources for her dissertation project.
