Opening Hours and Location
What are the library's regular opening hours?
SSE Library is open 09.00-17.00, Monday-Friday. SSE students and staff have access to the library between 17.00-20.00 with their access card, Monday-Thursday.
Exceptions occur, please check the side banner for any upcoming irregular opening hours.
Where is the library located?
SSE Library is located on floor 5 in the main SSE building at Sveavägen 65. External visitors must enter through the entrance at Bertil Ohlins Gata 5.
Who can borrow books from SSE Library?
Anyone with a complete Swedish personal number can borrow.
Books from the Course Book Collection and Career Center Collection cannot be borrowed by external patrons.
How do I get a library card?
A library card can be obtained at the Library Customer Service Desk on floor 5 in the main SSE building. Please pre-register for a library card on the library web page before you visit the Library Customer Service Desk.
How long can I keep books?
Course Textbooks & Career Center Books are for loan 7 days. All other books are for loan 30 days. As long as no one else has made a reservation for an item you can extend it as many times as you like (textbooks) or maximum 10 times (all other books).
How do I renew my loans?
Log in to "My Library" with your name, library card number and pin-code. Contact the library if you don't have a pin code, or create one at "My Library" on the library web page.
Are there fees if I return books late?
Course Textbooks and Career Center Books - 10 SEK/day. All other books - 5 SEK/day.
Who can reserve checked out books in the catalog?
SSE students and staff can reserve books directly from the catalog by clicking on Reserve Item. External patrons must call the library or send an e-mail in order to make a reservation for a book that is checked out by another patron.
Who can reserve items from location Closed Stacks?
SSE students and staff can reserve items from location Closed Stacks by clicking on Reserve Item in the catalog. External patrons must call the library or send an e-mail in order to make a reservation for a book that has location Closed Stacks.
I do not succeed with making a reservation for a book in the library catalog.
It's only possible to make a reservation for a book if it has been checked out by another person. If the information about a book says "Available" at Status it is available in the library and cannot be reserved.

How do I access databases from off-campus?
Click on View Online at the database information page and log in with your network login.
What is the difference between catalog, e-journals and databases?
The catalog is for searching the library collection of printed books, reports and a few journals. Some e-books may also be found in the catalog as well as SSE Bachelor and Master theses in pdf-format.
The e-journal tab is for finding electronic journals that the library holds a subscription to, e.g. Harvard Business Review.
Databases are a collection of some 60 databases acquired by the library. Each database has to be searched separately.
Can SSE Library assist me if I have a reading impediment?
Students with a print disability can borrow course literature in alternative formats, e.g. talking books. Contact the library for further information.
