The Swedish House of Finance is committed to protecting the privacy and security of your personal data.

What do we mean by personal data?

Personal data is any kind of information that can be linked directly or indirectly to a natural person, for example names, personal identity numbers, postal addresses and email addresses. The EU’s General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which replaced the rules of the Personal Data Act on how personal data may be handled, went into effect on 25 May 2018.

Personal data handled by Swedish House of Finance

Subscriptions

When you sign up for our newsletter, your email address and name are saved in a register. We do this so we can send you the newsletter that you want to receive. The data is saved as long as you remain a subscriber. The data is used solely for this purpose, and we do not pass on this information to third parties. Personal data can be turned over to a government authority, but only when specified by law or in an authority decision.

You may cancel your subscription at any time by clicking on the link in one of the emails you received. This applies to all subscriptions. Your subscription details are then removed from the register in question.

Swedish House of Finance events, symposia and other seminars

When you register for an Swedish House of Finance event, symposium or other seminar, you are given the option that we either i.) save your name, email address and the name of your employer in our database until the event is over, or ii.) we save your name, email address and the name of your employer in our database until you cancel your subscription at any time by clicking on the link in one of the emails you receive.

We save your name and the company name so we can register your attendance upon arrival at the event. We save your email address in the event we need to contact you with information, for example if we change the location of the event. When you have chosen the option to remain in our database after the event we save your name and email address so that we can send you an invitation to our future events. We save your company name in order to send invitations of special interest to your company/industry. The data is used solely for this purpose, and we do not pass on this information to third parties.

You may cancel your subscription at any time by clicking on the link in one of the emails you receive about our events. Your subscription details are then removed from our register.

Job applicants

When you apply for a job at the Swedish House of Finance, we save your name, address, telephone number, gender and other information you include so we can handle your application. This data is deleted after two years. The data is used solely for this purpose, and we do not pass on this information to third parties.

Swedish House of Finance Datacenter

When you register for the Swedish House of Finance datacenter, your name, email address, academic affiliation, the downloaded database(s)  and frequency are saved.  We save your name, academic affiliation and frequency of downloaded database(s) in order to confirm that you are entitled to download the databases free of charge. We save your email address in the event we need to contact you with information, for example if we update or discovered an error in the downloaded database. The data is used solely for this purpose, and we do not pass on this information to third parties. The Swedish House of Finance has a separate agreement with Bisnode, regarding the handling of personal data, in accordance with the requirements of GDPR.

Data Protection Officer

The Swedish House of Finance will appoint a Data Protection Officer, who will be tasked in part with monitoring and controlling how the Swedish House of Finance complies with the data protection legislation. Your rights

According to GDPR, you are entitled at no charge to withdraw your consent or request a correction or the erasure of any incorrect data. You may also request information on the personal data concerning you that has been processed at the Swedish House of Finance regardless of whether this data has been collected via the website or in some other manner.
