Pontus Engström´s research focus centers around entrepreneurship and financing of micro- but also SMEs in developing countries. More recently, he has also been involved in the development around models for financing and developing female foreign-born entrepreneurs in Sweden, through a collaboration with the Ester Foundation. He holds an MSc from Stockholm School of Economics and a PhD from the University of Agder in Norway. He is also the co-founder and CEO of MTI Investment, which is an investment company investing in growing SMEs in East Africa.
