Marie Bemler

Affiliated Research Fellow, Scania CV AB

Marie Bemler is an Affiliated Research Fellow at House of Innovation at Stockholm School of Economics (SSE). 

Marie’s research focuses on how our expectations of future technology affect our organizations and society at large. Sometimes it feels like we are living as much in the future as we are in the present. Just as we are affected by our history, what has been invested in before, our knowledge and present technology, how we are affected by the expectations and dreams of the future interests her. How do expectations and visions help to challenge organizations and society to fulfill goals and grand challenges? She does her research on self-driving vehicles and how toady’s challenges in organizations, society and technology development is affected by expectations of tomorrow's technology.

Marie currently holds an M.Sc. in Engineering with focus on Sociotechnical systems and a BA in the Science of History of Ideas, both from Uppsala University. Before her PhD studies, Marie had 10 years of working experience from Scania, her latest engagement being with development of Advanced Driver Assistant Systems and self-driving vehicles.

Marie is also an affiliated PhD Student at Swedish Center for Digital Innovation and the Integrated Transport Research Lab PhD affiliation program at KTH Royal Institute of Technology.
