Giada Baldessarelli

Assistant Professor - Department of Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Technology

Giada Baldessarelli is a tenure-track assistant professor at the House of Innovation. Prior to joining SSE, she was a British Academy research fellow at Imperial College Business School (UK) and before that a postdoctoral researcher at Chalmers University of Technology (SE). She received her D.Sc. (Doctorate of Science) from the École polytechnique fédérale de Lausanne (Switzerland). Her dissertation, supervised by Prof. CL Tucci, was entitled “Routines and practices in cross-boundary creative projects." As part of her doctoral studies, Giada spent ten months at Stanford University (US) where she was affiliated with the Center for Design Research and the Design Thinking school.

Her research interests include the systematic development of creative outcomes in collaborative projects. Specifically, she utilizes qualitative methods to explore how socio-material interactions influence work, how laypeople (users and clients) collaborate with creative workers, and how aesthetics (i.e., knowledge rooted in visceral, sensory reactions) affects creativity.
