Sustainability Workshop at Accenture

Accenture’s Retail Club had a workshop about sustainability and the social impact of our shopping habits.

Anna Melin, Digital Marketing Consultant at Accenture, introduced the club to the method Design Thinking. The problem introduced was that consumers are concerned about the environment and social impact for their purchase habits. Our task was to help consumers make more sustainable choices when shopping. Some of the suggestions presented by the students were to divide the shelf, in grocery stores, into different scores depending on how much impact the products had on the environment, the green bar- which were a logistic solution for packaging, more available information about the impact for cosmetic products and “Sustainability Rating”- the idea was to create a rating system which would be based on two sustainability aspects: ecology and equity.
