Expansion at H&M
Beatrice Palmgren, working as an Expansion controller at H&M Sweden, held a presentation about expansion where she described important aspects to consider when expanding the business.
The students were then introduced to an expansion-case, which focused on growth near Drottninggatan in Stockholm. The case was about establishing COS near Drottninggatan with a goal of optimizing the profitability for the entire H&M group. The students were given some different location alternatives and were asked to examine the different locations and decide the most suitable one, with respect to both profitability and brand aspects.
