Managing Digital Transformation – Theory and Practice

The objective of the course Managing Digital Transformation is to provide master students with tools for observing, analyzing and understanding how the role of digital technology is rapidly shifting. The course is given jointly by Stockholm School of Economics and the Royal Institute of Technology. The course provides the master students with insights and different perspectives on digital transformation. Digital transformation requires business to remodel their own resources, their relationship with consumers and the services they offer.

The course puts these transformation processes in focus and will provide students with various new and established theoretical tools for analyzing these transformations. Once students have acquired the necessary theory and knowledge students apply that expertise in a real-life business projects. The goal is for students to develop their ability to understand an organization, analyze its current situation and come up with relevant recommendations, while also motivating why the chosen solution is considered the best plan of action.

By working closely with relevant players in the industry, the project module gives students the opportunity to deliver highly useful and impactful solutions for client companies (in the business project as well as during the workshops) involved in digital transformation.
