Opening Hours and Location

What are the library's opening hours?

Between June 22 – July 10 and August 3 – August 14 the library is closed, but we will respond to emails (library@hhs.se) and provide service for SSE staff when possible. 

How do I return my books when the library is closed?

All loans are extended until September 1. If you still want to return your books during the summer there is a book drop just inside the visitors’ entrance on Bertil Ohlins gata 4, and another one just outside the library entrance next to the Bonnier Staircases. 

Where is the library located?

SSE Library is located on floor 5 of the main SSE building at Sveavägen 65. External visitors must enter through the entrance at Bertil Ohlins Gata 5.

Borrowing

Who can borrow books from SSE Library?

Anyone over 18 years with a complete Swedish personal number can borrow.

Books from the Course Book Collection, Career Center Collection and Methodology Collection cannot be borrowed by external patrons.

How do I get a library card?

A library card can be obtained at the Library Customer Service Desk on floor 5 in the main SSE building.

How long can I keep books?

Course Textbooks, Career Collection Books and Methodology Books are on loan for 7 days. All other books are on loan for 30 days. As long as no one else has made a reservation for an item, the loan is renewed automatically for up to 3 months (Course Textbooks, Career Collection Books and Methodology Books). Normal loans are renewed up to 6 months (normal users) or 12 months (faculty, PhD-students and staff). 

How do I renew my loans?

Short loans are renewed automatically for up to 3 months (Course Textbooks, Career Collection Books and Methodology Books). Normal loans are renewed for up to 6 months (normal users) or 12 months (faculty, PhD-students and staff).

Are there fees if I return books late?

If a book is reserved by another patron and is returned late, there is a fee of 10 SEK per book and day. 

Who can reserve checked out books in the catalog?

SSE students and staff can reserve books directly from the catalog by clicking on Reserve Item. External patrons must call the library or send an e-mail in order to make a reservation for a book that is checked out by another patron.

Who can reserve items from location Closed Stacks?

SSE students and staff can reserve items from location Closed Stacks by clicking on Reserve Item in the catalog. External patrons must call the library or send an e-mail in order to make a reservation for a book that has location Closed Stacks.

I do not succeed with making a reservation for a book in the library catalog. 

It's only possible to make a reservation for a book if it has been checked out by another person. If the information about a book says "Available" at Status it is available in the library and cannot be reserved.

How do I access databases from off-campus?

Click on View Online at the database information page and log in with your network login.

Reading Impairments

Can SSE Library assist me if I have a reading impairment?

Students with a print disability can borrow course literature in alternative formats, e.g. talking books. Contact the library for further information.
