About the project

There are several needs and challenges facing the defense sector. These include how legal frameworks should be shaped to ensure secure supply flows for the military and other actors during crises and conflicts, how to safeguard access to supply flows involving both domestic and international suppliers, and how to manage supply chains in military as well as civil contexts.

There is a need to develop strategies for securing access to critical raw materials, as well as clarifying who should bear the costs of this strategic shift and enhanced supply security.

One important question is whether supplier markets have been adjusted to governance models and routines that may in fact complicate the procurement of defense materials - and if so, how to address that. Examples can be questions related to inventory and stockpiling.
