This platform aims to put financial markets to work for sustainability and investigate how financial systems can better contribute to sustainable development. It consists of two separate research programs and a number of individual research projects.
Stockholm School of Economics is a member of The Global Research Alliance for Sustainable Finance and Investment, founded in 2017 to promote multi-disciplinary academic research on sustainable finance and investment. The Alliance consists of global research universities, each with expertise in this emerging field.
We are also members of the newly founded Northern European Partnership for Sustainable Finance (NEPSF) - www.nepsf.org and part of the new Stockholm Sustainable Finance Center, more info here.
Emma Sjöström is the platform manager for sustainable finance and a research fellow at Misum. Her research centers on sustainable investment, and how the financial market can be used as an arena for supporting a sustainable development. Currently, she is conducting research on investor engagement with utility companies on phasing out coal. Emma Sjöström is also writing teaching cases on sustainability and sustainable finance, to be used in the education at the SSE.
