Global Health Night / SIGHT Award - a student event for good health and equality in the face of the pandemic
The Covid-19 pandemic has shattered our societies and revealed the need to think about health in different and much broader way. As outlined by United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) #SDG 3, good health and well-being, is inter-related with issues like clean water and sanitation, (in)equality, education and a healthy environment in many important ways, and an increasing amount of studies shows that the current pandemic accelerates and is accelerated by national and global inequalities.
Dealing with the crisis therefore means dealing with inequality and the principles of sustainable development. What can we do to contribute to the “building back better” process? Join us for an evening full of exciting lectures and discussions, rounded off with the SIGHT Award ceremony in which laureates will be recognized for important research contributions with regard to lower and middle income countries within global health.
