From 1st of November Dr. Dan Hjalmarsson will join the team at Center for Strategy and Competitiveness (CSC) He is retired Director General for Tillväxtanalys (see short CV below).
Dr Dan Hjalmarsson is Senior Research Fellow at CSC, with a special interest in innovation and entrepreneurship policy.
Before joining CSC, Dan fulfilled a six-year term as Director General at the Swedish Agency for Growth Policy Analysis – a think-tank direct under the Swedish Ministry of Enterprise and Innovation. His main research focus is on policymaking and multi-level governance; materialized in the intersection between national, regional and local development processes.
He has a longstanding empirical and theoretical knowledge of policy-making and competitiveness issues from his PhD work at Uppsala University, as a civil servant and head of strategy and evaluation at the Ministry of Industry, Secretary to the Industrial Policy Council and the Small Business Committee. He has also served as expert in several public inquires and investigations and been a Swedish delegate to the OECD Industrial Committee.
After leaving the Ministry in 1990, he co-founded EuroFutures Ltd, a research and consultancy firm focusing on transforming strategy to concrete action at regional and local levels as well as providing clients with Policy Intelligence. Dan and his co-founders sold the company to the SWECO group in 2007.
