Ji-Won holds a PhD degree at Stockholm School of Economics. His broad research interests encompass the areas of intersections between international business, political economy and organization studies.
In his dissertation "Institutional variety: exploring the interplay between context and agency in Korean and Japanese business systems", he studies an array of issues in comparative institutional analysis with a focus on (sectoral, regional or multilevel) institutional heterogeneity and East Asian business systems.
In parallel with the dissertation work, his works about Swedish labor market and business system have been regularly published at International Labor Brief from Korea Labor Institute (KLI) and at Global Social Security Review from Korea Institute for Health and Social Affairs (KIHASA).
Prior to coming to SSE, He worked as a research associate at the Korea Labor Institute (KLI). He holds a MSc from London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and a BA from Korea University (including exchange student program in Uppsala University).
