Buffart, Mickael

Mickaël Buffart is an Assistant Professor with the Department of Entrepreneurship, Innovation and Technology at the Stockholm School of Economics. Prior to joining the House of Innovation, Mickaël held a visiting position with a Wenner-Gren Scholarship at the Institute of Analytical Sociology at Linköping University. He also held a postdoc positition (2019-2020) at Aalto University School of Business at the Department of Management Studies. Mickaël received his PhD from Grenoble École de Management and the Université Grenoble-Alpes, France.

Mickaël studies the role of discourses, texts and talks in strategy making and in entrepreneurial activities. More specifically, he examines how individual claims and discourses contribute to the diffusion of norms and strategies. In current projects, using computational text analyses, he examines how corporate strategies develop and diffuse through the million messages of a company internal messaging tool, or how individual claims about sustainability in the food industry contribute to the institutionalization of sustainability norms.
