Innovation at Systembolaget

Frida Jarlbäck, Business Developer, Customer offer & CX at Systembolaget, held a theme lecture providing students with insights into how Systembolaget works with innovation and the concept of renewal in a mature company.

The theme lecture started with Systembolaget's definition of innovation, which is essentially development while staying true to a brand and purpose. Therefore, innovation at Systembolaget has the purpose of turning ideas to customer value whilst limiting the effects of alcohol consumption in society.

The students were acquainted with three cases of innovation projects; the beer concept store, improved chat service online, and finally, AI for finding similar products. The students had time to discuss these projects, ranging from what trigger points could have caused them and why they are important for the future relevance of Systembolaget. Moreover, a discussion was held about how to organizationally structure operations to encourage innovations, where Systembolaget holds the premise that development should as much as possible be integrated into wide functions through the organization.
