Sustainable Fashion at Accenture
Accenture’s Retail Club had a workshop about sustainability in the fashion industry.
Anna Melin, Digital Transformation Analyst at Accenture Interactive, hosted an online workshop through Microsoft Teams. Firstly, Sara Rahiminejad, Technology Strategist at Accenture, held a presentation on sustainable fashion with a focus on the Global Change Awards, which Accenture is a key part of. Then, the students were divided into breakout rooms, where they used their newly acquired knowledge in a design thinking exercise.
The purpose of the exercise was to develop an idea regarding how a furniture retailer could adapt to meet conscious, purpose-driven customers’ requirements. Some of the suggestions presented by the students included hosting a sustainability competition between the divisions in the company’s value chain, as well as implementing a platform where people can share tips and tricks on how to “upcycle” furniture to combat overconsumption.
