SuRe - Sustainability Research Group
Sustainability Research Group, SuRe, conducts research on sustainability in the area of social and environmental enterprise and business.
Sustainable development is considered one of the biggest challenges of society today. Consequently, corporations' roles and responsibility is debated and discussed. SuRe’s research addresses the transformation towards more ethical, environmental and social concerns in production and consumption.
Change and development is created in a dynamic interplay between corporations, civil society, government, academia, media and other stakeholder groups. Thus, our studies incorporate a multitude of societal sectors and actors, as well as phenomena relating to corporate sustainable transformation. For example, in the area of business management and strategy we see practices, models and concepts evolving that challenge, as well as creates, opportunities for corporate and industrial development. The development of new business models based on criteria for social and environmental responsibility, on renewable resources, and on innovation and entrepreneurship will be an important part of the transformation towards a more sustainable society.
SuRe is engaged in various forms of education both internally at the Stockholm School of Economics, as well as externally in company programs, to support knowledge development in the area of sustainable development and corporate responsibility.
Group members teach and are responsible for courses and programs at the executive education level, in EMBA, MBA, MSc, and BSc programs.
SuRe members are also the designated CEMS faculty members for environment and teach courses at CEMS partner schools. They are frequently invited as guest lecturers at other universities and institutions.
