My research primarily concerns innovation in healthcare. The role of IT, quality indicators, patients as co-producers and the recursiveness between policy and daily practice are areas of particular interest. I am currently using models from complexity theory, institutional work, practice theory, routine theory, value theory and the interdisciplinary quantification literature -a list which is constantly growing--to understand these phenomena. Empirical settings in focus: specialist care; elderly care; self-care; health care policy; global work teams. Specific areas: digital health accounts, blockchain technology, algorithms, quality registries, value-based reimbursement, patient reported outcomes, patient online access to EMR, PHR, patient portals.
I am engaged in supervising and teaching at Stockholm School of Business and Karolinska Institutet, Medical Management Center, in Digital Transformation, Management and Organization, Operations Management and Healthcare Policy and Management.
