A safe reopening of campus
During the summer, SSE employees are working to prepare lecture halls, classrooms, the library and the atrium so that physical distancing can be secured. Classes will be split into groups that take turns to attend campus and class starts will be staggered to minimize the amount of people on campus simultaneously. Posters and information will be reinforced, and specific guidelines and recommendations for exit and entry of school buildings and classrooms will be available for teachers and students. Additionally, in accordance with current regulations, all classes will be limited to 50 participants.
Introduction week adjustments
We are very happy to welcome all new students to SSE! Our academic introduction week is a memorable experience, and we hope it will be this year too, with our adjustments to the new normal. During introduction week (August 24-28), special rules will apply. Campus access will be available only for those who take part in the academic introduction, meaning first year BSc students, first year MSc students, first year PhD students and incoming exchange students, following a specific schedule. Social activities organized by the student union SASSE will be limited to outdoor activities and restricted events where physical distance can be enforced at all times. To avoid queues and group gatherings, the café will also remain closed during introduction week.
SSE will offer both physical and online education for the first study period. But we encourage all students to be present in Stockholm for the start of the fall semester. The hybrid solution means:
- Every student can choose to be physically present or not.
- All courses will be offered both physically on campus and online.
- The student association will organize both physical and online activities.
You can also read an extensive FAQ about the hybrid solution.
We are relying on everyone to respect the guidelines and commit to keeping our campus safe and uphold the regulations from the Swedish authorities. We are closely monitoring any changes in these regulations and will adjust accordingly. At SSE we have hygiene and prevention recommendations we ask everyone to follow. Thank you for your contributions and patience in these challenging times.
