Support the New Wallenberg Chair

Celebrating Jacob and Marcus Wallenberg’s 60th Birthdays

Since SSE’s inception in 1909, the Wallenberg family has been among the School’s most prominent supporters. In fact, a gift of SEK 100,000 from Knut Agathon (K.A.) Wallenberg on his 50th birthday in 1903 was the first of many contributions towards establishing SSE.

To honor this longstanding relationship, and in celebration of Jacob and Marcus Wallenberg’s 60th birthdays in 2016, the Knut and Alice Wallenberg Foundation and the Marianne and Marcus Wallenberg Foundation have generously contributed funding to establish a Chair for a Professor of Business Administration at SSE, named the Jacob and Marcus Wallenberg Chair in Innovative and Sustainable Business Development.

The support shown to the Stockholm School of Economics by the Wallenberg foundations and the Wallenberg family is outstanding.”
Lars Strannegård

SSE is extremely appreciative for the Wallenberg families’ support of SSE, especially Jacob and Marcus’ current involvement at the school.

Presently, Jacob serves on the SSE Board of Directors and Marcus serves on the SSE Corporate Partnership Program Advisory Board.
