Tests for ongoing COVID-19 when you do not have a Swedish social security number or Swedish bank ID
You will get to speak to a doctor or nurse who will decide if you can get an appointment. If you are not already registered at any health center, the health center will register you with them and you will receive a “reservnummer”, a temporary form of Swedish social security number used for seeking health care in Sweden. In that case, they will need your living address in Sweden, phone number and they will also need to see your passport.
If you are an EU-citizen, you must bring your European Health Insurance Card. Please remember that you should not enter the health center if you have symptoms of COVID-19. In that case, an authorized representative can help you further. Listen carefully to the health center’s instructions on taking the test as they may vary. For example, at some health centers you will be asked to wait outside the building and be given the test through a window and at other health centers you will meet outside in a tent.
If you are not currently registered at any health center and do not have a “reservnummer”, we recommend that you register before potentially having symptoms of COVID-19 or are in need of any other medical care. Call the health center of your choice and ask them for help on getting the “reservnummer”.
The test is currently free of charge. Please double check what you must bring for your appointment. You will probably be asked to bring your passport.
