Important information regarding the transition to a new library system
Regular library services will be temporarily suspended and/or affected during certain periods of time.
The Library is implementing a new catalog system. The reason for the change is mainly to make it easier for patrons to search for and find information. During the transition, on November 22nd and December 5th – December 10th some service disturbances will occur. The following areas will be affected:
You will not be able to login to My Library.
Loans and Renewals
It will not be possible to check out books or renew your loans.
It will not be possible to reserve books. Reservations that cannot be processed before December 5th will be canceled. New reservations can be made after December 10th. (If you’ve made a reservation, but haven’t received a pick-up notice before December 5th, that means you have to make a new reservation on December 10th.)
It will not be possible to request interlibrary loans. New requests can be made after December 10th.
We will not be able to send overdue notices.
No late fees will be charged during this period (with the exception of Course books).
In the Library
The library will only be accessible for students, staff and faculty at the SSE using access cards. The Self-service Desk will not be functioning. Library staff will be available, but the Circulation Desk will not be staffed.
It will not be possible to register as a new library patron.
Databases, e-books and e-journals
Access to databases, e-books and e-journals will not be affected by the system change.
We apologize in advance for the inconvenience this transition may cause. We are keeping our fingers crossed for as little disruption as possible, but unforeseen situations may occur. If they do – please contact us.
We hope to return to our usual service level (or even better!) as soon as the new system is installed.
