"Everyone is very approachable, from your classmates to professors, from seniors in your course to all the people at SASSE. Get in touch with them, get to know them, and get all the tips and tricks of how to enjoy SSE in the best possible way!"

Azra Hadziabdic, from Bosnia
Current MSc student in Finance

1. Why did you choose SSE?

SSE is a highly ranked university, especially in the field of Finance. I found out that the MSc program in Finance is very hands-on and offers students a high degree of freedom: be it regarding the exchange programs, career coaching, internship opportunities or elective courses. It is very focused on practical matters rather than theoretical studies which was a very nice change with regards to my previous Bachelor studies.

2. What is it like to study in Stockholm?

Stockholm is very beautiful and I had such a nice experience here so far. I discovered the city center, the parks in the city and even the biggest IKEA store in the world. People are super friendly and almost everyone is fluent in English. Since the life is a bit more expensive in a bigger city than elsewhere, I recommend you to get in touch with older students as they can help you find cheap coffee and food downtown.

3. What tips do you have for prospective students?

There is something for everyone, regardless of whether you are a party animal or want some professional experience. In any case you will learn a lot, and most importantly, you will get to know awesome people. Everyone is very approachable, from your classmates to professors, from seniors in your course to all the people at SASSE. Get in touch with them, get to know them, and get all the tips and tricks of how to enjoy SSE in the best possible way!

Carlo Edward Morandi, from Italy

2. What is like to study in Stockholm?

Studying in Stockholm is great. The city is fantastic. There are lots of great places where you can relax and study such as the fantastic SSE Library of the Studentpalatset which is only five minutes away from SSE.

3. What tips do you have for prospective students?

Enjoy and participate in all the activities SSE and SASSE (the student association) offers you. This business school has a huge amount of opportunities to offer besides your courses, and the more you participate, the more you learn and the more you enjoy your new hometown.

Whenever you feel too stressed, a nice walk through Gamla Stan will for sure help you to recover while enjoying the shops and the beautiful architecture of ancient buildings.

"Getting an offer to study at SSE meant that I can pursue my master's not only in one of the world’s best institutions but also in one of the world’s most beautiful cities. Additionally, Stockholm is a very cosmopolitan city. One can meet people from many different countries and cultures. To me that’s what makes Stockholm special."

Beulah Kavitha Azariah, from India
Current MSc student in Finance

1. Why did you choose SSE?

Firstly, what attracted me the most was the two-year intensive program that allows students to customize it according to individual career needs with opportunities such as the CEMS, the Executive Trainee Module (XTM) and the student exchange programs. Secondly, it was the ranking and recognition of the school for Finance, its international presence and environment as well as the location of the school.

2. What is it like to study in Stockholm?

Getting an offer to study at SSE meant that I can pursue my master's not only in one of the world’s best institutions but also in one of the world’s most beautiful cities. Additionally, Stockholm is a very cosmopolitan city. One can meet people from many different countries and cultures. To me that’s what makes Stockholm special.

"I chose SSE due to the excellent MSc program in Economics and its commitment to sustainable development. Being surrounded by like-minded people, and to be taught by a faculty that shares my passion is inspiring."

Merve Demirel, from Turkey
Current MSc student in Economics

1. Why did you choose SSE?

I chose SSE due to the excellent MSc program in Economics and its commitment to sustainable development. Being surrounded by like-minded people, and to be taught by a faculty that shares my passion is inspiring. SSE also gives its students space to discover their interests, supports and encourages students to pursue them, which I believe is one of the defining and unique characteristics of the school.

2. What is it like to study in Stockholm?

It can get cold and rainy in Stockholm, but fika breaks and stunning sunsets will make up for it! Stockholm is a great place to live in as a student; whatever your interests are, there is always something new to discover, especially if you join the student union. Make sure to keep an eye on the union's calendar.

3. What tips do you have for prospective students?

Do your research! Talk to us ambassadors, talk to your prospective professors and to students from the program you are interested in. It is crucial that the culture and the vision of the school you choose for your master's is aligned with your own.

"Get in touch with us – we’re here for you! Don’t be shy in your application and emphasize what really makes you special, even if it might sound unusual."

Francesco Caslini, from Italy
Current MSc student in Economics

1. Why did you choose SSE?

High academic quality and level of fellow students played a major role. In the Economics program, diversity is pursued by selecting people with different backgrounds as well as from different countries, and I was anticipating a truly enriching environment, with small classes facilitating exchange among us. Also, I was fascinated by Sweden and Stockholm as a start-up hub.

2. What is it like to study in Stockholm?

Right now, Stockholm is driving change in Europe. As a student – and especially a SSE student – you really feel you can contribute to this in whichever way suits best your talents and passions. It’s a nice feeling.

3. What tips do you have for perspective students?

Get in touch with us – we’re here for you! Don’t be shy in your application and emphasize what really makes you special, even if it might sound unusual.
