1. Why did you choose SSE?
There were a lot of reasons that ultimately made me decide to study at SSE, such as its good reputation, top position in the ranking and the great program offer. Apart from that, it was however the first impression of the school that I got during the Assessment Center which left a lasting impression on me and made me choose SSE over other schools. The people that I met from both SSE and other schools, as well as the approachability of the faculty made me feel immediately included and SSE really came across as a smaller school that really cared for its students, which is definitely something that I can say is the case so far.
2. What is it like to study in Stockholm?
Stockholm is a really lovely city to study in, especially since it manages to walk this fine line between offering an exciting urban life and a place of refuge through the nature around the city. Therefore, it could very well be that on a regular Sunday you could very well be going for a hike in one of the many parks or nature reservoirs or for a nice boat tour around the archipelago and then afterwards go for a Fika-Tour with coffee and kanelbulle around the old town before finishing the town in one of the great restaurants or a pub/bar in Södermalm. In short, there are so many, different things to do in Stockholm which is what keeps it interesting and makes sure that everyone can find something to spend their time with.
3. What tips do you have for prospective students?
I realize everyone says that but make sure to start looking for housing as soon as possible, especially for private accommodation - there are actually some good offers close-by the school. Furthermore, make sure to get all of your administrative/ organizational sorted out as soon as possible upon arrival, or else it will just further complicate and prolong the whole process (speaking from experience here). Make sure to be here for the Intro Week, it's a great opportunity to get to know many new people and attend as many of the banquets and after school-pubs, so you really make sure to enjoy the student life next to school. I’m looking forward to welcoming you in Stockholm and until then take care and get ready for an exciting experience!
