Impressions from singapore
It has been a few weeks now since I left Singapore and I am already feeling a little bit nostalgic about the past year.
It was a year full of traveling, meeting new people and genuinely exciting experiences. Many friends have asked me what Singapore is like and I find it quite difficult to describe it or compare it since it is such a unique place that does everything it can to wow visitors. In Singapore you can find everything from night-time F1 racing in the city center, slides and Ferris wheels inside clubs, ‘supertrees’, the tallest indoor waterfall (that lights up to the rhythm of music) and a multitude of light, laser and even drone shows.
But since we were lucky enough to stay for a full year, we got to experience Singapore at a much more in-depth and authentic level. It is not just flashing lights and nightlife but also a unique blend of all sorts of cultures and backgrounds. Within one city you can walk between Chinatown, Arab Street and Little India and be transported to completely different environments. Singapore also makes sure to respect and celebrate all sorts of holidays, like Christmas, Chinese New Years, Ramadan and Deepavali, making for a very inclusive and colorful experience.
I can honestly say that this past year was one to remember and I encourage everyone to apply and be a part of experiencing such an exciting and rewarding year abroad that you can reminisce for ages to come with your fellow KABF alumni.
