Rehan Chaudhry

Meet Rehan Chaudhry, Contract Director at Coor Service Management and BSc in Business & Economics and MSc, Accounting & Financial Management alum.

Having started his career in the management consultant industry, Rehan's passion for what he does stems from his interest in leading and driving a business forward; from developing strategy to diving into change management and implementing processes. Recently he has moved over to Coor Service Management, the leading integrated facility management company in the Nordics. As Contract Director, Rehan runs and manages all services and business by Coor towards Ericsson in Sweden, one of the largest contracts within Coor Group, with his team of 100+ individuals from his organization. The role includes strategical leadership, contractual service and business development and of course achieving first class customer experience in all levels of the contract. In addition to the budget and team responsibility, Rehan reports to the Swedish management team. Since Ericsson is such a large and important client, Group Management are also an important stakeholder to manage. Several top managers at Coor have previously been part of the Ericsson contract, which is great for Rehan when he needs to discuss strategic or operational challenges.

You get by with a little help from your friends

When it comes to building a solid, outstanding CV, the SSE and CEMS brands lifted Rehan in tough competition. Rehan believes that employers are well aware of the quality that the school stands for, and in his case, it felt like he could make career choices based on what he found interesting, rather than chasing options.

Another key ingredient to unlocking even more doors to your future career is to establish good connections with peers and friends at the school. With a little help and encouragement from his friends, Rehan secured part-time jobs, case-training for internships, and also got recommended for full-time positions after graduation.

"Even to this day, when it's been nearly 10 years since I graduated, everyone is always helpful. This really makes an SSE graduate stand out in a fiercely competitive job market"

Advice to students considering applying

He puts his advice simply: don’t be afraid to just do it.

“I can guarantee that you will love it. My years at SSE were the best and they shaped me personally and professionally in ways I could not have imagined when I first applied to the BSc back in 2007. Please try to make the most of university and do not rush to finish and become an adult as fast as possible. These years are for exploring, enjoying and learning so make sure to do just that!”

Rehan knows that SSE is a demanding business school, but that the workload should not intimidate you. In light of having very helpful friends from his time at SSE himself, Rehan encourages future students to also find that same helpful spirit – "Stay friendly, be social and help each other out. Make sure to spend time with your classmates outside of lectures, seminars and exam preparations – you will be able to forge lifelong friendships and have the time of your life. And trust me when I say this: you will meet your classmates in all walks of your career and if you’ve been friendly and helpful during your time at SSE, it will benefit you throughout your career over and over again."
