Why did you choose SSE and your specific program?
Studying economics was an obvious choice for me, as I did my Bachelor's degree in economics. I am interested in societal issues and to learn how the economy functions in the best possible way to benefit people. Choosing the SSE was also easy for me. It offers a high quality two-year-program and highly motivated fellow students and faculty members around you.
What is your favorite part about being at SSE?
The best part about being at SSE is the people around you. I have got to know fantastic people from all around the world. They are motivated to learn but also fun and interesting.
Why would you encourage others to apply to SSE?
Choosing SSE keeps your doors open. It has a good reputation and you will have wonderful time!
This specialization has a strong international approach and it aims to provide you with a critical understanding of current debates in international economics. At the same time, the specialization provides you with problem-solving skills that can be applied in a wide variety of settings. It gives you a general analytical approach and a way of thinking, rather than detailed knowledge about narrowly defined issues. This approach will serve you well throughout your career in our increasingly complex world.
Through the program, you will learn how to use economic theory and quantitative methods in solving complex problems in many areas of economics. We create a structured learning environment where you will acquire a solid theoretical understanding during the first part of the program, and then move on to improve your practically oriented problem-solving ability will in the second part.
