SSE MBA during the corona crisis
Physical distancing is at the heart of the SSE corona strategy to secure a safe environment for both students, faculty and staff. For the start of the SSE MBA in December 2021 we are planning for being able to deliver your studies physically in our premises at the school. However, we are of course monitoring the situation of the COVID-19 pandemic closely and are following the recommendations from the Swedish authorities. At the time being there is a limitation of how many people can be in the same room, and for some students there are travel restrictions.
We have during fall 2020 successfully delivered the campus weeks conducted for the SSE MBA 2019 and 2020 cohorts, in a hybrid solution. Meening that those who are able to attend the classes in person do so, and those who can't travel to Stockholm they follow the classes digitally. The SSE MBA classes are held in an amphitheater with room normally for 90 people, so there is plenty of safety space.
In April, May, June, December and January 2021, we have delivered the campus weeks digitally. Here are some of our participants reactions and experiences from these weeks:
Sara Radu, participant SSE MBA 2021:
Wow what a first week! Incredibly impressed of how you have solved and delivered everything digitally, I cannot even imagine how great it will be when we go live! And what an amazing class with a fantastic team spirit and collaborative mind set.
Jarich Nooitgedagt, SSE MBA 2019:
Communication is key and SSE has done a great job, with all information about COVID-19 going through one platform. The digital program week was interactive. We had very relevant lectures on scenario planning in a crisis and we were also able to learn in breakout groups. You click a link on your screen, join your group and then get a message to go back to the bigger room – that was fantastic.
Kristina Zaytseva, SSE MBA 2019:
Everything was very well organised to make sure we still got the most out of it. We had very good video lectures and sessions on Zoom that gave us energy. It was like magic when you were transferred from the bigger session to your group. You can also adjust things to focus on the speaker, see everybody or focus on the slides – it’s a flexible tool.
