New double degree program with St. Gallen

Master students in banking and finance can now broaden their perspectives. Stockholm School of Economics has joined forces with the University of St. Gallen to offer a double degree program in banking and finance at the Master level.

The double degree program consists of two full years and is open to students doing a Master of Science in Finance at SSE or a Master of Arts in Banking and Finance at St Gallen (HSG). Students wishing to join the program apply during the first year of their master program. Those approved then switch to the partner university for their second year, and graduate with a degree from both institutions.

A broader perspective

As a leading business university St. Gallen sets global standards for research and teaching by promoting integrative thought, responsible action and an entrepreneurial spirit of innovation in business and society. With a challenging curriculum in the fields of financial markets, financial institutions, corporate finance, and quantitative methods, the MBF offers a high-quality education in both theory and application.

By combining the academic strengths and traditions of the two schools, the joint program offers a unique opportunity for students to launch careers in the field of finance and business.

"The program is intended to equip students with a broad perspective, benefitting from the considerable strengths of each of the two programs", comments Bo Becker, program director of the SSE MSc in Finance program.

The new double degree program joins existing double degrees in finance, with Bocconi University in Milan and Sciences Po in Paris.
