Private Label Development with Coop

Coop Retail club had its second workshop which concerned Coop’s private label brands and the process to develop new products.

The workshop started with a brief by Susanne Krohn, Product Specialist at Coop, about the Coop private label brands and the process of creating and launching a new product. One example brought up was the launch of Coop Änglamark ice cream launched a couple of years ago.

In four groups the students were to find products within different categories that is missing and would be an improvement to the Coop private label assortment. Both product line extensions and new products was suggested, many ideas emphasizing on organic products and suitable for families. For example, increasing the organic yoghurt selection, introducing turkey to the Swedish market and ready-to-bake pie.
