SSE Researcher Erik Wetter invited by Angela Merkel

Erik Wetter, researcher at the Mistra Center for Sustainable Markets (MISUM) at Stockholm School of Economics, is one of two people from Sweden that have been invited to participate in the Third International German Forum in Berlin.

The International German Forum was founded in 2013 by Angela Merkel as a way to get direct input from subject-matter experts on issues of strategic importance to the German government.

160 selected people from all over world are meeting in the German Federal Chancellery on February 21 and 22 to discuss future challenges and strategies for innovation and global health.

Erik Wetter is invited to present Flowminder methodologies to use mobile and satellite data to improve the response after natural disasters and during epidemics such as cholera, Ebola, and malaria.

The other participant from Sweden is Otto Cars, Professor at Uppsala University, who has spent the last 20 years communicating the risks of antibiotic resistance through the global network ReAct.
