Install Green Investment Bank for jobs and the climate
Representatives from the new SSE research institute Misum today release a report on investment strategies that also have positive effects on environment and climate. The report supports the installment of a green investment bank in Sweden to increase investments in green sectors.
In the UK such a green investment bank is up and running since 2012 where it has been able to attract £ 4,8 billion from private investors, as well as decrease CO2-emissions equivalent to taking 1,6 million cars off the road and boost 3,500 new jobs.
- It is crucial that SSE Misum takes the role of investigating how markets can support sustainable development, says PhD Svenne Junker, recently appoint Mistra Fellow and policy officer at Naturskyddsföreningen (Swedish Society for Nature Conservation).
