Extended opening hours

May 3 – June 24 we will carry out a test with extended opening hours. Extended opening hours mean that the library is open, but unstaffed. This is something that students have wished for during a long time and we are happy to finally be able to try it! SSE library is still closed for external visitors.

How does it work?

The library will be open for SSE students, faculty and staff Monday to Friday 9.00 – 19.00. The librarians will be around from 9.00 to 17.00, but between 17.00 and 19.00 the library will be unstaffed. During these two hours you can use the library for silent, individual studies, but also borrow and return books using our self check out machines. Use your access card to get in and your library card to check out books.  The course book room will be closed during the extended hours.

What if I need help?

Since there will be no librarians around, we will not be able to give you support, but there are guides on our website that can help you.

If something happens Campus security is just a call away. The telephone number is visible on several signs in the library. Campus security will also do regular rounds in the library during the evening.

Will the library continue with extended opening hours next semester?

This is a pilot test and we will evaluate the results after June 24. We welcome your feedback – you can share it by email us or on the white board/box next to the entrance in the library.
