Leadership update - a new column in collaboration between CASL and IFL
CASL (Centre for Advanced Leadership Studies) and IFL are launching Leadership Update, a joint web-based forum to follow and examine new trends and ideas in leadership.
"The aim is to improe our understanding of the phenomenon and practice of leadership," says Professor ingalill Holmberg, Managing Director at CASL and Leadership update publisher.
Today the steady stream of new ideas, models and experiences makes leadership an elusive and contested phenomenon. Leadership is sometimes hailed as the most distinctive competence in organizations and the main driving force for change in society. At other times it is dismissed as a field of fads and fashion with little or no real impact.
Leadership Update is a forum where different perspectives will be investigated and discussed. “IFL is pleased to offer our clients, participants and networks this critical tool for developing leadership thinking and potential,” says Kristina Nilsson, Director of Faculty and Product Development at IFL.
As well as following developments in the field, the forum will generate input for workshops, themes for inspirational seminars, and even ideas for new course modules at IFL.
Editor of the forum is Pernilla Petrelius Karlberg PhD. She has a research background in the fields of management and organizations and is currently running the EMBA-program at SSE/IFL. Her ambition is to bring a critical research perspective to new trends in leadership.
Leadership update will be of relevance to anyone who has an interest in leadership issues: practicing managers and leaders, co-workers, consultants, journalists and researchers from different disciplines.
The forum will be up-dated monthly and will offer content in various forms, including columns, interviews and podcasts.
Launch date is April 10, 2014.
