New international sustainability program – in partnership with HEC Paris

The Sustainability Essentials program is designed to meet the needs of executives in charge of transformation projects, who need to re-invent business models and develop strong competitive drivers in the short, medium, and long term. CSR Director Lin Lerpold is in charge of the program, together with fellow CSR researchers Ranjula Bali Swain and Örjan Sjöberg as faculty.

The high-profile international executive program Sustainability Essentials started in March 2023. It is hosted by HEC Paris, with one module carried out by SSE Executive Education.

"Sustainability is a focus area for research at both HEC and SSE, and in combination with our corporate networks participants in this program will get access to outstanding research and practice in an international context", says Katarina Hägg, CEO at SSE Executive Education.
"Just like SSE, HEC is a top ranked business school, and we have common values when it comes to sustainability and our societal responsibility as business schools to drive transformation. Sustainability is a focus area for research at both HEC and SSE, and the participants in this program will get access to outstanding research in an international context. We are proud to be partners in this program for executives."

With participants from both France and Sweden, as well as in-person courses in both countries, the program draws on European and global perspectives and brings a valuable international aspect to the participant network.

The program is divided into three modules of 3-4 days.

  • Module 1 – Key stakes of sustainability
  • Module 2 – Sustainable business models
  • Module 3 – Implications of sustainability on company functions

A project focusing on sustainable development challenges serves as a common thread throughout the program.

The goal is for the participants to acquire a more in-depth understanding of environmental and social challenges, learn how to form a strategy, and develop their leadership to drive business transformation. The program will provide the participants with a holistic perspective on sustainability that executives can directly implement in their daily work.
